Catherine and her family engaged me to work with them on the renovation of their Clayfield home. The brief was to create a rustic style family home to reflect the characteristics of their 1920s Queenslander.
My greatest challenge was the kitchen – to tie in the original footprint, where the old kitchen stood, with the new open plan living and dining areas – my design featured a huge central island bench which anchored the two spaces. Feature windows looking out to the pool and tall pantry cupboards with a nook to leave phones and keys and lots and lots of storage.
I worked with Catherine’s builder on the design and finishes for the other areas of the house to complete the scheme.
The scope of work included the creation of a design scheme for the kitchen, laundry, family bathroom, ensuite and front entrance.
This included the selection of all interior finishes; tiles, sanitaryware, hardware, feature lighting, accessories and internal and external paint colours.
Custom joinery design for the kitchen, bathroom vanities, laundry cabinetry.

The key to the design was the huge island bench which tied the old and new kitchen together creating a seamless effect. The family love sitting around the island bench sharing a meal together.
Sarah was absolutely integral to the renovation of my home and I would never have achieved the wonderful outcome without her help.
